Betty Skirt Tour

Thursday, November 13, 2014

Today, I have the pleasure of participating in the Betty Skirt Tour.  This pattern is designed by the Shaffer Sisters, of whom I am a big fan.  You may have seen them on Project Run and Play or the beautiful creations they have made with some of my designs.  Their sewing always demonstrates their amazing skills and eye for detail, so I wasn't surprised by the high quality of their first pattern.

Inspired by the deep yokes and pleated skirts of the 1920s, the Betty Skirt pattern includes four different styles and 29 sizes.  Yes, 29 sizes!!!  You're set from newborn to size 16, plus a bonus doll pattern.  So much value here!

My daughter is wearing a size 4 in the gathered skirt and the fit is perfect.  I did take about 3 inches off the bottom before I hemmed it because we prefer it a little shorter.  The gorgeous fabric is a fine wale Stenzo corduroy from l'oiseau.  It's so soft and luxurious, giving this skirt a beautiful drape.

It's a great time to pick up a copy of this pattern, as it's currently on sale for 30% off with coupon code: BETTYTOUR.  While I received a complimentary copy of this pattern for this review, I wholeheartedly recommend it and look forward to making many more Betty Skirts for my girl!

Don't miss out on the rest of the tour and catch up on stops you may have missed...
