There are so many fabrics to choose from at Contrado, that you're sure to find what you need for any project. I find it's very difficult to find special occasion fabrics with prints. Everything I see in local fabric stores is typically solid colours, so this made my decision fairly easy. I chose some gorgeous taffeta and then went in search of a print.
I always try to pick something very unique that I've never seen before. When I was browsing a stock photo purchasing site, I came across this gorgeous flower (I think it's a peony?) on a black background and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. Creating a design on the Contrado website is a very easy process. The design is uploaded and then you decide how you want it to look on your fabric. Mine is tiled using the image tools on the design page.
Within a week, my package from Contrado arrived with my perfectly printed fabric! I'm always so amazed to see my designs come to life exactly the way I imagined them. Just as described on the website, the taffeta had a beautiful sheen and body to it that's perfect for dress making. It's so very luxurious! My newly printed fabric inspired my newest pattern, the Montrose Dress, which will release later this month.
My daughter loves her new dress! Her exact words when she tried it on were "I feel like a princess!". With the sheen and drape of the fabric, it's easy to see why!
