My Favourite E&E Pattern

Monday, July 6, 2015

You know how with your children you don't have favourites?  You love them all equally, right?  Obviously!  Well, I don't know if I can say the same about my patterns.  If I had to pick a favourite, I would have to say it's the Bohemian Babydoll.  Why, you might ask?  Here are my top five reasons:

1.  No closures on the back so patterned fabric is seamless (and it's super quick to make and economical, too!)

2.  The hem facings.  I LOVE to contrast the hem facing for that peek of colour or pattern depending on the dress.

 3.  Flutter sleeves.  Again, I love contrasting them.

4.  The hi-lo hemline...a must to show off the hem facings!!

5.  The way my little girl feels when she's wearing it!  Really, she just loves it (this one in particular)!
I'm going to have to make a few more for her to twirl in before the summer's over.

The gorgeous fabric is London Calling from Robert Kaufman.  It's a glorious lightweight, perfect for a Bohemian Babydoll.

By the way, the pattern's had a little facelift in the past week.  Now, the more efficient method for adding the full lining without closures is included in the pattern (no need to link to this tutorial).

The cap sleeve option is also included now, and doesn't need to be downloaded separately.

Another bit of news, is the Bohemian Babydoll (and also the Hemlock Top) are going to be available in the German language at the new Näh-Connection pattern shop soon.  Very exciting!  I'll let you know when the shop officially opens.
So, there you have it!  My admission that I play favourites with my patterns. ;)
