For the first time, I've been able to commit and sign up to participate in Kid's Clothes Week (formerly called Kid's Clothing Week Challenge) and I can't wait! My sewing corner has been tidied up so everything is in it's place. My fabrics are all neatly piled up and ready to go. The outfits I'm planning to complete are ready to hit the machines!
If you haven't heard about this challenge issued by Meg at
Elsie Marley, you can check out all the details on the new blog dedicated to this now quarterly event (it used to be bi-annual). Basically, all you have to do is sew for your child(ren) for one hour a day for seven days. That's it! Truth be told, on a good day, I sew at least that much, probably closer to two or three with sketching, fabric/pattern cutting, planning, researching (does Pinterest, count?!). So, really this is just going to be a more formalized commitment to do what I already love!
My plans include a full outfit for each of my children, starting with Tobias since Anja's been getting the majority of my sewing attention lately. I've already started his look and it's almost ready. Anja's outfit will include a variation of the
Bubble Pocket Shorts that I'm really excited to share. I'm trying out a fabric I've never used for them before, but I think (and hope!) it'll work. Plus it's going to have a couple things added to it that I think will add to the cuteness factor of the shorts.
So, that's on my agenda this week...how about you? Are you going to participate in KCW?
